I would like to take this opportunity to thank BMW Motorcycles of Grand Rapids (most specifically Andrea Chappell) for an extremely satisfying experience in purchasing a 1981 BMW R100RT. I live in the San Francisco Bay Area, so it was quite important that I felt comfortable with the sales person. Throughout the entire process, Andrea was professional, knowledgeable and very responsive. Purchasing any bike is a major decision, but when it comes to buying a vintage bike (site unseen), everything becomes quite amplified. I own a 2011 R1200GS, so I was quite knowledgeable of BMW bikes, but buying a bike over 30 years old can be a challenge.

After the bike was shipped and paid for, Andrea came through for me once again - no surprise! There was shipping damage during the transit from Grand Rapids to San Francisco and I needed her assistance in clarifying to the insurance company that this damage was not present when it left the dealership. Her email to the insurance company was instrumental in my claim being paid.

It should also be pointed out that when Andrea was in training, I needed help locating the VIN # on the R100RT, which can be extremely hard to find on older bikes. The rest of the team at Grand Rapids BMW immediately stepped up in her absence to solve this problem as well.

I will simply have to fly to Grand Rapids and buy my next BMW from Andrea in person. I'm sure the ride home would be memorable as well!

Thanks again for a wonderful experience!
